AIU fashion students are on the career track well before they graduate.
They create a portfolio highlighting their best work for presentation to
employers. Study tours to fashion centers like New York City, Paris and
Milan are a great chance to network with the big names in the business.
In addition, our students gain valuable experience as interns with
designers, manufacturers and fashion houses.
The AIU Fashion Design program helps new designers acquire the necessary
skills to develop their personal style. Students also become familiar
with the business and marketing side of the apparel industry.
Bachelor Degree in Interior Design; Associate Degree in Interior
Design
Interior Design is a vital, challenging career choice. The Interior
Designer works closely with a broad range of clients to enhance interior
spaces, whether they are cozy family kitchens or bright, spacious
offices. The designer may make decisions from the early stages of
building construction right down to the accessories and finishing
touches.
The Interior Design Program at AIU is taught by industry practitioners
and/or qualified educators, and structured to give graduates all the
necessary skills and qualifications to step right into successful
careers as residential designers, commercial designers, consultants,
design specialists and more.
Bachelor Degree in Fashion Design & Fashion Marketing
The AIU Fashion Marketing Program gives students a strong foundation for
the fashion business, preparing them for leading management roles in
fashion and related industries. Students learn advertising techniques,
marketing strategies and retail management. Students may choose to
pursue a degree program that combines Fashion Marketing and Design,
coupling the advertising, marketing, and retail know-how of the marketer
with the creativity of the designer. This program includes the
development of a Fashion Portfolio.
Bachelor Degree in Media Production; Associate Degree in Media
Production
The Media Production Program at AIU familiarizes students with the
various stages of production in this increasingly popular media.
Graduates are prepared for a wide-range of careers in the media
industry. Media is used for sales presentations, product launches and
training films, in addition to television commercials, music videos and
corporate productions. AIU students explore all of these possibilities
for the future and more. For the Bachelor's program, students have an
option to concentrate in Audio Electronic Music Production as a part of
the media production program.
Bachelor Degree in Visual Communications; Associate Degree in
Visual Communications
The Visual Communications Program at AIU combines traditional media and
interactive technology, offering students the ability to merge their own
creativity with the latest technologies for the highest quality product.
Concentrations in various areas of multimedia allow students to develop
their particular strengths and interests. At the same time, the
comprehensive program emphasizes the importance of flexibility and
diversified skills. Concentration areas include: Graphic Design,
Illustration, Photography, Animation, and Digital Design.
Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Marketing; Associate of Arts in
Fashion Marketing
This program will prepare you for a career in the retail and wholesale
fashion industry. Focusing on behind-the-scenes operations, you'll learn
the importance of production, marketing, advertising and business
administration. You'll gain a big picture understanding of the
marketplace and what it takes to succeed there.
Graphic Design - Associate
of Science Degree
The classes include basic core skills and progress to more
advanced multimedia and animation techniques that include
computer knowledge and software applications currently employed
in the Graphic Design industry. Students in the Graphic Design
department also take a general education component that
facilitates communication and interpersonal skills vital for
success in a professional and competitive environment. During
the final term, all students will complete an internship with a
professional design firm to facilitate first-hand exposure to
the industry prior to graduation.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will receive a
two-year Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design.
Graduates of the program are prepared for entry-level positions
in a dynamic and challenging field. The employment opportunities
include positions in design studios, advertising agencies, and
corporate art departments. Graduates will also seek employment
with printing companies, movie and television studios, newspaper
and magazine publishers, record companies and publishing houses,
as well as the career of a free-lance graphic designer.
Fashion Design - Associate
of Arts Degree
The mission of the Fashion Design Program at Brooks College is
to provide academic and specialized practical instruction to
prepare students for entry-level positions in the fashion design
industry. This program prepares the student for positions in the
apparel manufacturing industry from a realistic industrial point
of view.
Brooks College's Division of Manufacturing Education (D.O.M.E.)
is the on-campus manufacturing facility where the major portion
of the second year program is taught. Graduates of the
Associates of Arts Program in Fashion Design are qualified for
the following: Designer and Assistant Designer, Fashion Stylist,
Production, Patternmaker, Pattern Grader, Fabrications and Trim
Buyer, Fashion Illustrator, and Textiles Artist.
Interior Design - Associate
of Arts Degree
The mission of the Interior Design Program at Brooks College is
to provide academic and specialized practical instruction to
prepare students for entry-level positions in the Interior
Design Industry. Educational goals are fundamental in the
development of a student's career objectives. The best
preparation for the future is an education that will enable
graduates to adapt to a changing world. Our sound curriculum,
accredited by the Foundation for Interior Design Education
Research (FIDER), provides a balance between the broad cultural
aspects of education and the specialized practical content
integral to the profession.
Graduates of the Associate of Arts Degree program bear the title
Interior Design Assistant, and, as such, are qualified by
education and experience to assist clients with the selection
and arrangement of interior furnishings, materials, and space
planning; to perform the basic skills necessary to implement a
design including taking measurements, providing cost estimates,
preparing drawings and business documents, and consulting with
fabricators, installers and other support specialists; and to
assist the professional interior designer.
Fashion Merchandising -
Associate of Arts Degree
The mission of the Fashion Merchandising Program at Brooks
College is to provide academic and specialized practical
instruction to prepare students for entry-level positions in the
fashion industry. Graduates of the Associate of Arts program in
Fashion Merchandising are qualified for management and/or
executive training positions such as Assistant Merchandiser,
Assistant Merchandise Stylist, or Customer Service
Representative for a fashion manufacturer; Assistant Sales
Manager or Showroom Sales Representative in the fashion
wholesaling business; Department Manager, Assistant Buyer,
Assistant Fashion Promotion/Special Events Coordinator, or
Visual Merchandising Assistant for a fashion retailer; Buying
Office Assistant for a resident buying office; and Advertising
Representative or Stylist for an advertising agency.
Animation - Associate of
Science Degree
The mission of the Associate of Science Degree program in
animation at Brooks College is to provide an intense program
that prepares students for entry-level positions in the
industry. Built on a firm foundation of drawing skills,
sculpting ability and writing techniques, students learn the
process of creating 2D and 3D animations for different media.
The student is exposed to multiple software programs presented
by instructors who are working in the field. Emphasis is placed
on developing a professional quality demo reel and industry
involvement through internships.
Graduates of the program have the opportunity to work with
entertainment, multimedia, real estate, legal, scientific,
architecture and education forms in a variety of positions. Some
of the job titles available include modeler, assistant animator,
lighting specialist, character designer, background artist,
effect animator and storyboard artist.
Multimedia - Associate of
Science Degree
The mission of the Multimedia program at Brooks College is to
provide academic and specialized instruction to assist students
in obtaining entry-level positions in the Multimedia industry.
Students will begin classes that emphasize design and
creativity. Courses from the first two terms of the Graphic
Design program will give students a foundation upon which to
build their creative skills. Terms 3 through 6 will concentrate
on giving students knowledge and skills in Multimedia including:
web-site design, game interface design, video capture and
editing, sound capture and editing, digital image manipulation,
animation, web animation, and 3D modeling. A digital portfolio
will serve as the final project and will encompass the student's
work as well as reflect on their attained knowledge of
multimedia design, principles of design, industry practices, and
the use of technical applications. Students will also take a
general education component that facilitates communication and
interpersonal skills vital for success in a professional and
competitive environment.
Graduates of the program should find opportunities for
entry-level positions with a vast amount of companies that
require the skills and training of a professional multimedia
specialist. Web site designer, Flash designer, web content
coder, game interface designer, digital graphics designer, and
multimedia presentation designer are just some of the exciting
career opportunities awaiting a Brooks College graduate. The
employment opportunities span many industries from graphic
design firms, advertising agencies, publishing houses, newspaper
and magazine publishers, movie and television studios, record
companies, toy and game companies, corporate departments, as
well as the career of a multimedia freelance designer.

IADT Degrees
The Associate of Science Degree in Digital Photography
will address and meet traditional photographic skills as
well as emerging technical skills defined in the current
daily tasks of photographers. The program is designed to
provide graduates with skills in areas enabling them to
adapt and keep pace with the rate of change of
technology and needs of the job market. Graduates will
be prepared to seek careers in the photography field
ranging from wedding & portrait photography to
photojournalism and advertising photography. Clients and
employers can have a broad range of needs, and these
graduates will learn a variety of skills in various
media, with a heavy emphasis on creativity to meet these
needs.
The mission of this program is to prepare students for
professional opportunities in the information
industries. The program focuses on the use of electronic
technology while incorporating the basic theories of
graphics, text, audio, video, and interactivity.
Students are guided through a balanced curriculum that
provides them with the expertise to design vehicles that
strengthen the interplay of ideas.
The Associate of Science degree in Web Design combines
the fundamentals of computing, digital audio and video,
graphics, layout, interactivity and web technology, as
well as general education courses intended to foster
critical thinking. Students will gain skills in
designing computer screen, computer animations, video
productions and soundtracks as well as the creation of
storyboards and scripts based on client needs.
Facilities include cross-platform computer labs
incorporating industry-standard software along with a
soundstage and post-production equipment. Learning is
further enhanced with instant high-speed internet
access. The faculty consists of working professionals
providing students with access to the latest industry
practices.

The Associate of Science degree in Computer Animation
will provide students with both the conceptual and
technical skills needed to enter the field of computer
animation, utilizing Silicon Graphics workstations and
SoftImage or Alias/Wavefront software.
Strong foundations in storyboarding, drawing,
characterization, modeling, and animation are coupled
with training in digital video and audio, as well as
professional post-production techniques.
Additional coursework in interactive media and game
design provide further application of animation skills,
and a foundation of general education course work to
round out the student's knowledge base. As students work
toward program completion, they produce projects for
competition and a portfolio that prepares them to start
their careers.
Bachelor in Computer Animation;
Diploma in Animation
Animators make things come to life. Animators can
specialize in motion, feature films, materials, and
more. Motion control animators are responsible for
animating physical models or computer generated images
with respect to how an object moves. Feature film
animators develop either 2-D or 3-D animations for the
motion picture industry like the animations seen in Toy
Story 2. Materials specialists build object surfaces,
textures, terrains, and fractals for 3-D models. These
animators are responsible for creating a dinosaur's skin
like in Jurassic Park, or creating the perfect
prehistoric setting in The Flintstones.

The International Academy's Program in Fashion Design is
demanding, technical, comprehensive, and
up to date. Students are given a solid foundation
in fashion illustration, pattern drafting, design,
draping, clothing construction, textiles, fashion
history and production techniques. All of the
instruction is presented using industrial grade
equipment in spacious and comfortable facilities built

The fashion design curriculum is a sound educational
